about
*** All Proceeds from this track will be donated to Elijah's mother and family ***
We grieve and honor Elijah Jovan McClain’s gentle and profound time on Mother Earth. He was described by friends and family as "spiritual seeker, pacifist, oddball, vegetarian, athlete, and peacemaker who was exceedingly gentle". His mother said "he wanted to heal others” and was “able to accept love and give love in varying forms." Elijah was a self taught violinist and played for kittens awaiting adoption at the local shelter. His life inspired us, we are deeply moved by how he brought love and goodness to the world through modes of healing and music. Elijah died on Aug 30, 2019 at the age of 23, in Aurora, Colorado at the hands of police. The police officers have not been charged or put on trial, but Elijah has found a way to continue shining his bright light to the world. Black Lives Matter is a sacred cry to all humanity to recall its inherent luminous nature, may we all live in gentleness and generosity as Elijah McClain did.
lyrics
From his feet - the earth originated
The wind - his breath
Space - his ears
The sun and moon - his eyes
The universe - his heart
The Vedas, his speech
All he was trying to do was become
All he was trying to do was become
All he was trying to do was become
Elijah McClain
Elijah
Gentle soul going home
Gentle soul going home
He had the music
Dignity and grace
He knew how to give love
And receive
He healed people
He healed himself
All he was trying to do was become
Shine on Elijah
Shine on
Beautiful dream Elijah McClain
I love you beautiful dream, Elijah McClain
Beautiful dream
